Making Technology Make Sense
Jamey Tucker has spent more than three decades in television news — and the last fifteen of those years doing one thing most TV journalists never attempt: making technology genuinely understandable to everyday viewers.
In 2011, while reporting at WKRN-TV in Nashville, Jamey launched What the Tech? after a single story about a new iPhone flooded his inbox with viewer questions. That moment revealed something the industry had missed: people everywhere, regardless of age or ZIP code, were hungry for smart, practical technology coverage delivered in plain language.
Today, What the Tech? is a nationally syndicated consumer technology segment airing on local television news stations across the country. Jamey covers smartphones, smart home devices, streaming, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, apps, and the gadgets that shape how Americans live and work — always with an eye toward what actually matters to real people.
Jamey is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and has cultivated direct relationships with the major players in the consumer technology industry, giving him access to news, products, and insights that don’t always make the mainstream press.
